The most expensive city hotels in the United States in 2015

Utah has just been recognized as having the most expensive hotel in the United States. A recent survey conducted by Luxury-Hotels.com has come to this conclusion and has singled out Stein Eriksen Residences and Maison Hudson as the leaders of the pack.

In coming up with the rankings, the survey compared luxury hotels in major cities across the United States. The cheapest available rate for a double room during the month of October 2015 served as the basis of comparison. The survey selected October as the comparative month because hotel rates reach their average peak in the majority of U.S. cities, New York included, then.

Utah and New York are home to the two priciest hotels in the country, Stein Eriksen Residences and Maison Hudson. Averaging a minimum nightly rate of $7,660 for a double room, Stein Eriksen Residences takes the survey’s number one spot. Coming in second is Maison Hudson with a rate of $6,506, followed by The Setai Miami Private Luxury Residences in the third spot.

About the Methodology:

The survey was conducted in September 2015. For each luxury hotel located in a U.S. city (population > 500,000), the cheapest available rate for a double room during the month of October was established. Only two- or three-night stays have been considered, excluding Sundays and Mondays. So for stays of four nights or more, more affordable rates may be available.
