Survey: The most expensive luxury hotels in the USA

A luxury hotel situated in Massachusetts is the most expensive accommodation option anywhere in America this summer, a new survey shows.

The survey by Luxury-Hotels.com compared prices at every high-end hotel across the US during the months of July and August 2019. A comparison was then made between each property, based on the cheapest available price for a double room.

Emerging as the priciest hotel was The Nantucket Hotel & Resort in Massachusetts. Here, summer guests are likely to have to pay at least $2,500 per night.

The second most expensive option is the Canyons Village Beautiful 3 Bedroom in Utah, where the most affordable rate is $2,443 per night this summer. Another remarkable property, Alila Ventana Big Sur (Adults Only) in California, completes the top three most expensive hotels with a cheapest rate of $2,388 per night.

As well as Alila Ventana Big Sur, three other California properties also feature in the top ten, with Limon Palm Springs ($2,040), Post Ranch Inn ($1,925), and Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills ($650) all representing the western state. Elsewhere in the survey’s findings, Pendry Park City ($2,108) represents another premium luxury spot in Utah, while Ho'Olei At Grand Wailea ($1,989) leads the top tier in Hawaii.

Below is a list of the 10 most expensive luxury hotels in the US this summer. The rates shown reflect the price (including all taxes and fees) for the most affordable double room in each property during July and August 2019.

About the survey
The survey was conducted in June 2019. For each luxury hotel in the United States, the cheapest available rate for a double room during the months of July and August was recorded, based on prices given by leading hotel booking websites. For the purposes of the survey, three-night stays were used as a point of comparison. Cheaper rates may be available for stays of four nights or more.
