The survey looked at rates at high-end hotels and resorts across the country, using the cheapest double room during the months of January and February 2026 as the point of comparison. These months are typically the time of the year when accommodation costs in Mexico are at their highest.

Nestled in the vibrant tourist region of Los Cabos, Grand Velas Los Cabos Luxury All Inclusive came top of the survey’s rankings with a minimum rate of $1,622 per night. The second and third most expensive options, according to the survey, are the Grand Velas Boutique Hotel (Adults Only) and Esperanza, Auberge Collection, both located in the stunning Baja California Sur region, with rates of $1,489 and $1,207, respectively.

The survey was conducted and fully updated for 2026. For every luxury hotel in Mexico, the cheapest available rate for a double room during the peak months of January and February was recorded, based on prices given by leading hotel booking websites. Only 2-3 night stays were considered for the survey, excluding Sunday-Monday. More affordable rates may be available for stays of four nights or more.
